Piano by Vina
Vina has played piano since she was 4 years old. Vina studied piano with Eva Ellen Miller throughout Elementary and High School and studied with Dr. John Raimo at the University of Texas-Pan American. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education all level in 1991.
Vina has taught Elementary music, Middle School Band and High School Band. Vina's accomplishments include: teaching Band for 16 years, winning 3 State Championships in 2 different states, teaching private lessons to all-region students and having numerous students earn a chair at U.I.L. State Contest, teaching private lessons to students and helping them earn a chair in the Region Band, teaching Concert Band to help students earn Division 1's along with several Sweepstakes Awards. Vina was named Teacher of the Year in 2003 and is currently working as a Middle School Band Director.
Every year Vina accompanies orchestra, band and choir high school students for State Solo and Ensemble Competition. In addition, she plays piano to accompany choirs as well as performances with musicals in the Rio Grande Valley. Finally, she is the lead piano player at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and at St. Mathews Episcopalian Church.

Violin by Mary
Mary began her violin studies at the age of 11 when she became a member of the pilot orchestra program in McAllen. She studied with Marilou Vetter, Judy Lockhart and Dr. Matt Weber. She attended the University of Texas-Pan American and studied under Dr. Carl Seale earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education all level in 1992.
Upon graduation she started an Orchestra program in a local school district which has now developed into a very successful program with ten teachers and orchestras at Middle Schools and three High Schools. She has taught for 18 years. Her groups have received sweepstakes at UIL Concert Contest and Sight Reading Contest. Many of her students have received superior ratings at both Regional and State UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. She has had many students place in the TMEA All Region Orchestra and TMEA State Orchestra.
In addition to teaching middle school and high school, she was a member of the Valley Symphony Orchestra for 19 years. She is currently directing the morning English Choir at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
